14K & Silver European Victorian Diamond Tulip Crescent Star Brooch

An outstanding European Victorian c.1870-1890 diamond star crescent modelled in 14k gold and silver, hallmarked.

The crescent is an exceptional and unique design featuring alternating tulips in between spaces representing a comet's tail. It is further set with rose cut diamonds all around, with a centre large diamond star that is truly captivating and eye catching.  The diamond star has a sparkly old mine cut diamond in the middle approx. 0.35ct, surrounded by dazzling rose cut diamonds 1.77ct, with a total weight of 2.12ctw by spread.

The brooch pin is hallmarked on the trombone clasp. It opens and closes well and the brooch is in excellent condition. In addition, it retains its original hook on the bottom at the back of the brooch, which can be used as a watch pin by hanging a pocket watch on the bottom.

The crescent measures 33mm across, and the star measures 24mm across, and the brooch weighs 14.43 grams.
